Did you know that the first American electric car was developed by William Morrison in 1891? Or that there used to be “electric stables” where charging occurred? We did some digging recently to learn more about the history of electric cars and charging stations.

Nissan’s $10,000 Discount Extended to March 31, 2017
Nissan is currently offering North Carolina residents a
$10,000 discount on its all-electric Nissan LEAF. To get
the rebate, all you need is the announcement and fleet code.

Duke Energy’s EV Charging Infrastructure Project
In December 2016, Duke Energy announced plans to install over 200 public electric vehicle charging ports across North Carolina as part of its $1 million EV Charging Infrastructure Project. Advanced Energy is providing assistance to the selected locations and recently posted a project update.

When is the EV tax credit ending?
The federal electric vehicle tax credit was created in 2011, but how long do we expect it to be around? Thanks to our ambassador, Matt Tuers, for providing an explanation of the federal EV tax credit and details on when it will expire.
